Amsterdam Canal Pride / African Pride

For the first time, there will be an African Boat at the Amsterdam Canal Pride (http://www.amsterdampride.nl/ or http://www.progay.nl )on 7th August 2010. The African Gay Youth Foundation is preparing to take center stage in this year s pride event with the following message:-
We want to raise the Visibility of African LGBT individual and declare once and for all, that Homosexuality has no boundaries! (Homosexuality sans Frontières!) We have all heard how this is an idea imported from the corrupt West (It can t possibly be African) and all that baseless blah blah… We are here to finally shout out – We are Gay, we are African and we are not going away!
We also want to pay homage to Mr. Nelson Mandela, who had the courage to ensure that South Africa s post Apartheid constitution included protection of LGBT rights. Toni La Tegola
